Fan Fictions and YouTube

Today I have discovered fan fics!

I'd heard about them before, but now I've actually read a couple from Maximum Ride, and one was AWESOME! XD It's just like an extension of the story, the plot is great, but I have to wait to get the next chapter, Grrr. =(

Today (being most fruitful) I have also discovered YouTube!

I checked out some Naruto clips, and the one with all of the kid scenes in Naruto was sooooo sweet! =) I like seeing Garra as a kid, he's evil and yet adorable (holding his little teddybear while killing people).

I decided to check some fan fics because one of my friends said they were awesome, and I heard of YouTube in class (they were all in disbelief when they found out I'd never heard of it). I checked them both out and now that I have, I must say that I can't believe I've been missing out, I could spend hours reading fan fics and watching anime on YouTube! =)

Well got to go, the fan fics are calling me...calling me....calling me...

School, Politics, Books and more Politics!

Yes, it has been (yet again) a long time since I last posted.

School's still hard. Luckily, I have wind ensemble, piano, and my books to take my mind off my woe.

Wind ensemble is lots of fun, I only wish it weren't so early in the morning!

My piano skills are developing nicely. I find that my sight reading is much better. Yes, piano is definitely the best stress reducing activity I participate in (besides reading)

Speaking of reading, I can't leave Twilight alone! It scares me how I can just read, and read, and re-read this book and not get tired of it! The only other book I've been able to do this with was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and that was years ago. It's freaky! Oh well, anyway, I read Eragon and Eldest again, and I also read the teaser in the back of the new Eldest. I must say that it's UNBELIEVABLE. How could they just leave it on such a cliffhanger like that? I just wanted to tear out my hair in frustration, GYAHHHHH I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NOW!!!!!!!..............................one moment please................................. Sorry about that, but really, how could they? I probably shouldn't have read the sneak peek, but geeeez, they are EVIL. I really am dying from not knowing what happens next.

On another note, the season of the turkey is fast approaching, today we put up our Christmas lights, and the Democrats won both the House and the Senate. Hmmm, those really weren't related in any way were they? Ok, so, yeah the Democrats have taken the government back from the Republicans. I can't really blame the people for making the switch, it's the Republicans' fault for not paying more attention to the feelings of America. They didn't realize just how unpopular the war really was. For, no matter what it started out as, the war has become one big giant embarrassment. I'm no genius at war strategy, but I must say that no matter how I look at it, I can't think of any way we can pull out of those counties without major embarrassment for the United States. If we just pull out, I'm almost sure Iraq will fall into chaos with no working government, and no official leader (or at least no leader that will last), and of course any problems originating from the United States' occupation will be blamed in us. But, if we continue to try to create a working democracy, we'll be occupying Iraq for decades, and Congress would never officially call war. So, yeah America is in a little bit of a mess. I hope the Democrats can handle it.

I haven't posted in a while...

I've been up to my ears in school work, sorry. School just keeps getting harder and harder. [sigh]

Oh well, anyway, my favorite class is still history! It's awesome! =)

On another note, I'm in Student Council! I've been trying to get in for a while, and now I've been elected class representative. Of course, I only got the job because no one else wanted it, but who's complaining? ;)

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that my birthday passed! It was a good day, the real party was two days before when my aunts and cousins came over. But, my grandma came over on my birthday and made me a special meal, so it was really nice. I got a ton of awesome gifts, a book (of course), a $50 check, a rain coat, slippers, some jewelry, and a flat screen TV for my room were all very much appreciated. Not to mention the tons of money in book store gift cards. =)

Anyway, the book I received on my birthday was New Moon by Stephanie Meyer, which is the second part to Twilight. I must say that they are two of the greatest books I've ever read! They illustrate a love story between a girl and a vampire, but the real great thing about these books are how realistic they are! It makes you believe that all you have to do is take the long drive to Forks, Washington, and you'd be able to say "hi" to the Cullens. The way the books describe vampires is refreshingly original, and very believable. I would definitely recommend these books to any fan of the Maximum Ride books, they'll just blow you away!

So, that's my life right now, I'm probably not going to be as consistent with my posts as I was during the summer, but I enjoy posting in my blog, so I'll definitely make an effort to keep my posts semi-consistent.

P.S. I made the Wind Ensemble for my school! 1st Clarinet! =)

SCHOOL HAS BEGUN!!!!!!!!! =O

School has begun! I can't believe it! It almost seems as if I'll wake up and find it's still summer, but alas the long long long school year began.

This year in band, our marching band is going to play at the Phillies game! We are actually going to be on the field! It's going to be soooo cool! =)

So far history is my favorite subject, our teacher is the funniest ever! Even though he was the first teacher to give out homework, he's still awesome!

Finally, the news about the changes to the school dances sounds mega cool. Being able to watch a movie if you don't feel like dancing is a great idea, I wonder why no one thought of it before. oh well. =) Sara really is turning out to be a good president. Neh? Oh! I hope they'll provide DDR to future dances; that would be so cool, but probably expensive, so maybe not, but I can hope right?

Baseball, Fireworks, Amusement Parks, what more could you ask for?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I was on vacation! I went to see the Pirates, the Reds, and the Astros play. I got to see spectacular fireworks,I spent two days at Kings Island (the amusement park), and I even got whiplash. It was awsome! Well, not the whiplash, but you get the point. =)

But, now the day of judgment is aproaching (school).

Enjoy your last days of freedom!

Orson Scott Card's Ender Series

I've just finished reading....

Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the Mind

Ender's Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon
Shadow Puppets
Shadow of the Giant

All by Orson Scott Card, and all extremely interesting books. They were all based in the future, but they all contained the type of truthfulness that was similar to the Da Vinci Code, except Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, they were both completely and totally fiction.

The first group deals a lot about religion, in a sense. In Xenocide, there's a very deep discussion about the soul and other such things. Very scientific, or scientific-sounding, and so it seems believable. I think I do believe some of it, on some level, just as a lot of people believed the Da Vinci Code on some level.

The second group deals with politics, maneuver, war, and cool intellect. It's basically about the world uniting under one government (not American). It's really impressive, how the author seems to stay impartial and historically accurate, if a little anti-American and European, but even the negative remarks have a bitter truthfulness that can't be ignored. Even though America does have a government that works, forcing other countries to follow in our footsteps really builds resentment, and we probably should close our borders and focus on making money. Or, at least that's what the books make you think, who knows? All I know is, these books are awesome! Read them! I can almost guarantee that some of the books will change the way you think about the world!

New blog discovered!

The link below leads to one of my friend's blogs. It just got started, but you can tell already that it's going to be an unusual one. Except, being unusual is fun, so check it out! =)

My Crazy Obsession

Lately, I'm becoming more and more obsessed with the Maximum Ride message boards. I never thought that I would find a book besides Harry Potter that I would be able to read more than three times, but I must have read the Maximum Ride books, at least, ten times! It's crazy, and a little disturbing, oh well. =)

What's up with PEOPLE and BAD DECISIONS!!!!!!(angry rant)

First of all, why the heck do people take drugs (the bad kinds)? I mean come on, in my school district we have a bazillion programs telling children how dangerous drugs are, how they can kill you, and how they can make your life miserable. So, what do they do? They take drugs anyway! Then, there are a ton of other bad decisions that are made, like choosing jerk boyfriends, skipping classes, and cutting school. But, what really ticks me off is that, even after suffering the consequences. They make the same bad decision ALL OVER AGAIN!!! How stupid can people get, jeez.... Ok, my ranting is over, you may return to your lives. =)

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest (rant)

I saw the movie just today, and I'd like to say that I HATE cliff-hangers! Why can't they just make the movie super long? But, NOOOOO we now have to wait about a year for the next part of the movie to come out! It was just like the stupid second part to the Matrix, you're on the edge of your seat, then suddenly the movie just ends. Of course, the cliffhanger almost guarantees people watching the next part, but it took soooooo long for the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie to come out, I'm afraid it'll take forever for the next part to be released in theaters. Plus, I want to know what happens next now. Sob... Sob.... Blow nose loudly.....

P.S. Notice how I didn't include any spoilers, you'll have to see the movie yourself =)

Religion (concerning the Da Vinci Code and other such things)

Well, this topic has been covered by almost every worshiper of Jesus, but these are my questions about the subject. First, although I am assured otherwise, I can't see the problem with Jesus having a wife and children. I mean, wouldn't that place him on a more level ground with other people? Also, I want to know why God didn't create a daughter too, wouldn't the world would be better off? The other thing that bothers me is the fact that people got so excited over the book. I mean, come on! It's a fiction, just because it seems true doesn't mean it is! Another mystery to me is why lots of people worship Jesus so much, wouldn't it make more sense to take it up with the Big Guy himself? Finally, and probably the most tantalizing question of them all, did Jesus really make miracles or is it a hoax like the Da Vinci Code says?

Personally, I'm torn when it comes to subjects like religion. To every question there is an answer and objection. To me it looks as if no one will ever truely KNOW, and much of what is written in the Bible seems to be taken on faith to be true. Still, the thought that there's a being out there who cares about you, no matter what, is kinda comforting, in a way. Plus, the thought that there is a paradise waiting for those with good souls really encourages people to lead good lives, and even though religion caused and still causes countless wars, it also saved countless lives and I for one appreciate that.

The Plan For Future Posts

I plan to use this blog to tell random people I don't know my ideas in various topics. I encourage anyone who happens to check out my postings to comment however they want. I really look forward to reading people's responses. Thank you very much!
